I'm sure Matt Smith is an excellent actor, and I know a lot of people really like his version of the Doctor, but I MUCH preferred Eccleston and Tennant and am really looking forward to seeing Tennant's Doctor (and Rose) in the 50th anniversary episode. Pity they couldn't get Eccleston as well.
I find Smith slightly irritating and while I'm still a fan of the programme in general this season has held some very so-so episodes. I found myself preferring the episode with Vastra, Jenny and Strax because the Doctor was largely absent for the first section.
