One thing I love about her books (I'm just working through the Cordelia ones again) is that romances do not end with the happy marriage.

Aral and Cordelia continue to be written as a couple. They have their problems and they cope with them, and their steadfast affection and understanding of one another is one of the things that makes me keep reading and re-reading Bujold.
