This week's movie: Tower Heist. OK, so we weren't expecting anything very cerebral, which is just as well, but this movie delivered exactly what it said on the tin. Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy & co. staging a robbery in an exclusive NY penthouse apartment to retrieve what they think is due to them when a financier defrauds them of all their life savings and pensions. It's a comedy caper with more of the caper and less of the comedy. Everyone gets their just desserts, though the ending was somewhat rushed and managed to gloss over a couple of things which should have altered the outcome (one continuity glitch and one impossible action). Amusing is all I can say about the humour. No belly laughs here. But Stiller turns in another of his very likeable performances and it was an ideal undemanding Wednesday afternoon out.
