Movie of the Week: Total Recall

Total Recall seems to have been panned by many reviewers, but I enjoyed it. Colin Farrell was well cast and the whole thing zipped along nicely. It's a pity that the two female characters looked like they'd been cast out of the same mold, though. Several times I got them completely mixed up, but that's pobably just me. See what you think:

Weirdly the original Arnie version of Total Recall was on TV when I got home so I watched it to do a 'compare and contrast'. Yeah, OK there was a different MacGuffin, but some of the dialogue was identical. It was neat to have the relentless cop turn out to be ' Quaid/Hauser's fake wife (and Beckinsale did a convincing job), but I've always had a soft spot for Michael Ironside. Colin Farrel beat Arnie hands down, though, but that's not difficult.
