In the aftermath of losing two back molars to abcesses in the last few months I've started on the bridgework today to repair some of the damage - or at least fill the gaps. I like my dentist. She's new, young, enthusiastic and thorough. The old one was great and I worried about the changeover when he retired, but I'm not disappointed.

A good dentist is a great consolation. I adore mine.

I had a really bad dentist when we lived in Wakefield. He was heavy-handed and his chairside manner was appalling. (I have a 'click' jaw that I still put down to being pulled about by him when having my mouth yanked open wider than it wanted to go) I've never been afraid of visiting the dentist but he really put me off. When we moved to our present house a friend in the village recommended the gentle Mr Chaudhuri and I'm glad she did. He looked after the whole family's teeth for the best part of twenty five years, so it was a real wrench when he retired. The new dentist, Jessica, is more or less straight out of college, so I was a bit wary, but she's super.
