I've posted very few photos of Eska because it's awfully difficult taking shots of a fast moving black dog. She always comes out looking like a blob or a blur and her facial features disappear into shadow. So imagine my delight when a friend took a casual snap last week and sent it today. Yay! A photo with definition.
Here she is. Eska, age 22 months. German Shepherd.

Date: Aug. 13th, 2013 09:58 am (UTC)She loves to run and she's fast. Very fast. With a strong prey drive. She almost caught a cat in the back garden a couple of weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure she'd not have been gentle with that. Sadly the neighbourhood cats don't respect garden boundaries, though we are securely fenced so she can't get out into their gardens.

Date: Aug. 13th, 2013 01:16 pm (UTC)I sympathise over the difficulty of photographing black animals. I had a black guinea pig as a child and thought the photos of her cream coloured mum show every detail, Blackie was always just a featureless black blob!
