I've enjoyed this right from the beginning of season one despite conceding that some of its critics had the occasional point. Yes, OK, there were plot holes I could drive a Cardiff bus through, but I didn't care. I enjoyed it anyway. I'm a big Captain Jack Fan and have been right from his first appearance in The Empty Child (one of the best Doctor Who episodes ever I think)
Torchwood season two has fulfilled the promise of season one and tonight's final episode really delivered.
Does anyone know whether the BBC have committed to a third season? They'd be mad not to, especially with Doctor Who not doing a full season five in 2009

One of the characters i was not so keen on in season one was Owen Harper, somewhat cruelly, but not inappropriately nicknamed Doctor Frog Boy by
maeve_the_red. I'm guessing the programme had a fair amount of negative feedback about Owen from him using the alien date-rape drug in episode 1.1 (did they really think about that one properly) to causing more problems or the team than he solved. In season two they toned down his character's excesses considerably. He became almost sympathetic, certainly less annoying, less of a sexual predator, less of a loose-cannon professionally - even at last beginning to notice Toshiko who had been in love with him since day one (despite having the lesbian love affair with the alien - but hey we can all make honest mistakes).
Then having made Owen more sympathetic they killed him off - twice. I wonder if the second time will stick?
Surely even Torchwood wouldn't resuscitate him twice... would they?
Losing Toshiko, however was quite a surprise. I thought they made a pretty good job of killing her. Nicely written and nicely acted.
So looking ahead, the Torchwood team needs a new doctor. I wonder if Martha Jones might be available. Let's see what the next season of Doctor Who brings. Though...
