Would someone please tell Mercedes Lackey.
www.horse-directory.co.uk/points.htm

I'm currently reading The Last Herald Mage trilogy. It's the first Lackey I've ever read and I can't believe that when she's got intelligent, telepthic equine-shaped characters called Companions that she (and her editors and beta-readers) could possibly allow that one to slip past. Horses do not have ankles. They have knees (front) hocks (rear), fetlocks and pasterns.

I'd like to friend you. We met in [livejournal.com profile] heleninwales lj.

I always ask, and if yes, would you friend me back?

I notice you have a couple of friends of mine on your 'interest' list - Kate Rusby and James Keelaghan. I've known Kate and her parents since I started on the folk scene in the mid 80s, and Keelo is one of the folks I fix up UK tours for.

Though I'm deeply into folk music (as a day job) I tend to skew my LJ posting towards my SF and fantasy writing. Please feel free to friend me. That would be lovely. I can't always friend back immediately as most of my friends are personal friends in real life or long-time net contacts from the rasfc community for SF writers.

Kate intrigues me with her sweet voice, James...I saw James in concert once, two years ago, and haven't gotten over it yet.

I am interested in your writing, don't know that much about fantasy. The folk music...well, that's just icing on the cake.

James is lovely. As good company as you'd expect from his stage show. He tours here with Hugh McMillan on bass and a fiddler (usually Jaime RT). They tend to stay with me when they're min the area.

Ny writing... er...

Hald a dozen short stories sold and published (mostly in anthologies) but no books sold yet despite finishing five. Am currently working on the first draft of number 6 'Spider on the Web' and querying two of the five with serious intent.
