Booklog 24/2020: Stephanie K Smith: Carnival Row – Tangle in the Dark (Audiobook)

A shortish audiobook (An Audible original) at just over 3 hours. It's a prequel to the Carnival Row TV series, and tells the story of Tourmaline Larou and Vignette Stonemoss in the days before the war against the fae. It's a story of love and regret. The narrator, Karla Crome, does a good job, but this is a slight story for completist fans of the TV series.

You and yours all okay?

Yes, thanks for asking. We're in solid lockdown with my 95 year old mum, but managing well, so far. We've managed reasonably regular Tesco deliveries, and we've been concentrating on the garden. We have soft fruit and raised beds for vegetables that we licked into shape last autumn. Hoping for the self-employed payout in June since all concerts have been cancelled (therefore income fallen off a cliff). Better late than never! Son is in Virginia, also on lockdown and teaching uni from home on video links. Daughter and family are in Sussex and (we think) have already had it. They've had something, anyway. How about you?

We're good thanks.

There are advantages to being rural especially that we can still get countryside walks to prevent stir craziness. Couple of hundred hospitalisations in the local authority but that's been all.

Nephew and partner made us great aunt and great uncle last week! :o)
