Dell Computers part the Second

OK, three phone calls later... Kali came up trumps my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop is ordered. I'm getting a 15 inch screen, a 2 gig dual core processor, 3 gigs of Ram, a 250 gig hard drive, a webcam, It will have Windows XP pro instead of Vista. It also seems to have MS Works, though I'll remove that immediately in favour of Lotus Smartsuite.

Whoo-hoo. Looking forward to it.

I always think a new computer is a mixed blessing. It's lovely to have a new machine; it's such a pain to get everything transferred and set up just how you want!

Yes, agreed. But at least I'm not transferring in a panic with my old machin in smoking ruins (like I did last time).

I really want to make sure I don't have any rubbish transferred to this new one, so I'll be starting to slim down my current machine now. To be honest I'm nowhere near the limit of the 80g hard drive that I've already got. so the 250g one on the new machine will hardly have any work to do at first.

Joe is going to be at home from June to October (when he goes to Rome) but he's bought himself a Mac to replace the stolen Dell. Since this one will be my desktop replacement anyone who comes within ten feet of it will need armour!

Great stuff. I was worried after the previous. P (hubby) even offered to go look at the Dell site for you as it sounded so dire, LOL. Wanna hear how it does as it's 3 yrs younger than mine *g*.

The site was weird. When I tried to customise online the whole thing came out much more expensive.
