The third outing for Harry Dresden, the only professional wizard in the Chicago phone book. This is ably read by James Marsters. This book features Harry with a sidekick – Michael, a Christian knight with a magic sword. It appears that Chicago has a ghost problem. And the ghosts are tied to Harry – dangerously tied to Harry. The barrier between the real world and the ghostly one seems to be breaking down. If he doesn’t figure out what’s going on he could end up a ghost himself. Bur it appears that this is also tied up with the Chicago vampires, and Harry’s girlfriend – Susan Rodriguez, an investigative reporter on the trail of all things paranormal, is determined to get in on the act. Lots of Vampires, a twisty plot and, yes, peril. And in addition to all that, Harry’s fairy godmother is chasing him down after he broke a bargain.
